In order to scope out the project, my first hour of work is free. This will give me an opportunity to estimate how much work will be required to conduct the research based on the information you can provide on your family to be researched. After this I work on an hourly basis of $45 per hour.
As a guide: Single line family research - that is one parent, grandparent, great grandparent and so on generally takes between 15-25 hours of research. Maternal or paternal research - one parent but both grandparents and so on, takes between 20-60 hours of research.
Clients are only charged for the hours spent on the project. For example, if the project is estimated to take around 10 hours and it takes only 8, then only eight hours is charged plus any additional expenses for research documentation such as any certificates requested.
Please note: any expenses such as the purchase of certificates or other documentation such as archival record charges are independent of the hourly rate, however I will not exceed the agreed upon amount without prior approval.

I have contributed to Pioneer Histories in the Hunter Valley as well as Richmond Tweed districts. I am a member of the Society of Australian Genealogy, as well as various other local family history groups within NSW. I have contributed to projects such as Christina Henri’s Roses of the Heart which was representative of the female convicts to arrive in Australia.
Please note that whilst every effort is made to carry out your family research, a reputable genealogist cannot and will not make promises regarding the outcome. Payment is not dependent upon the outcome of the research. There are rare instances where documentation and or information cannot be discovered despite the hours conducting research.
